ConsumerInfo.com is offering a free credit report to anyone who visits their
site. Most credit reports contain
inaccuracies, some of which could be damaging your
credit rating. Find out what's in your credit report, and make
informed decisions to build a solid credit rating. It's
quite possible that you'll find out about an account or deposit
that you've forgotten about, and get that money back!
Unfortunately, it takes a few days to get a free credit report. If
you want to get your report in just 30 seconds after requesting it online,
you can buy your credit report for $7.95 at the same site.
To get your report online, you'll need a valid credit card or debit card,
plus one more account number (home loan, auto loan, gas credit card, department store
account, or credit card). You will then receive unlimited access to
your credit report for 30 days.
You can also try their Credit Analyzer tool
for free, which will give you an approximate estimate of your own
creditworthiness.
When you get your free credit report, you'll also receive a free
30-day trial membership in the CreditCheck Monitoring Service --
a service that continuously provides you with vital information
about your credit. If you decide on a paid membership
($79.95 annually), you'll be informed every month about changes
to your credit record.
If you find that your credit record is inaccurate, you can
dispute your credit record free of any charge. You can also
submit evidence or letters to be entered into your credit
record. Just the fact that you're trying to repair your
credit record is taken as a positive sign by potential
lenders. Your next step should be to visit Kiplinger.com to
search for articles about repairing your credit. After
you've done that, you'll have a better chance of getting a good
credit card at 10Money.com's Credit Cards advisory page.
